Q & A
What documents are necessary for me to travel from the United States to Portugal?
-
A valid passport. (Possibly completion and payment of ETIAS).

Which voltage converter/adapter is required for Portugal?
-
The two prong is required for all European Union countries, including Portugal. Please find the linked here.
-
Hair tools do not work via voltage converters.
How far in advance do you recommend booking airline and hotels?
-
On average you can book flights on most airlines 331 days in advance of the departure date.
-
For the best balance between price and availability, most travel experts recommend booking international flights to Europe between 3 and 6 months before your departure date.
-
In our opinion, the best flight options to Lisbon are any flight direct from Boston or Philadelphia. The flight is under 7 hours.

What to expect for arrivals and departures at Lisbon Airport (Humberto Delgado Airport)?
-
Please expect longer than usual wait times at passport/border control in Lisbon Airport.
-
For arrivals with a connection from within the E.U., the passport will have already been checked in the connecting airport (typically Amsterdam or Paris).
-
For departures from Lisbon Airport to the U.S., arrive early. Please be aware of a passport checkpoint after security and after the dining area. However, any American passport issued after 2007 is an "electronic passport" so please pick the appropriate queue when entering border control for shorter wait times.
-
For departures from Lisbon Airport to somewhere else in the E.U., arrive later for your departing flight, much cleaner side of the airport and less of a hassle.

Where will the ceremony and reception take place?
-
At the Estoril Vintage Hotel. While the Hotel is not large enough to accommodate all wedding guests, it is the perfect location to overlook the Atlantic Ocean for both the Welcome Cocktail (9/4/26), Ceremony (9/6/26), Reception, and After-party.

What if I am not arriving until Saturday?
-
We will be excited to celebrate with you as early or as late as possible. If you will not be arriving until Sunday, September 6, 2026, please email here ASAP.
-
Unless told otherwise, we will assume that if you have RSVP'd to the wedding, then you will be attending ALL events, from Welcome Cocktail (9/4/26), Night Before Dinner (9/5/26), and Wedding Ceremony and Reception (9/6/26).
What if I have dietary restrictions?
-
Please email here ASAP for any dietary restrictions. After August 1, 2026, we will no longer be able to make accommodations for dietary restrictions. Thank you for your understanding!

Can I take uber in Portugal?

Of course! While the Ubers in Portugal are renowned for being a crazy ride, there is availability for booking on the Uber App. It is recommended to book the Uber Black option for a less crazy driver.
-
To access the Uber pick-up location at the Lisbon Airport, follow the Ride-Share signs and take an elevator to the garage on the first floor.
-
There is also an option to pre-book a driver through Travel Tailors from the Airport to your selected hotel. Please email, portugal@travel-tailors.com for booking requests.
